On September 30, 2024, SC-Stolt’s 9,200 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker
No.1 was successfully launched at CSSC Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry (“Wuchang
Shipbuilding”), adding to the festive atmosphere of the National Day
celebrations.
The launch ceremony was attended by ZHENG Yijie, Deputy General Manager of
SC-Stolt, WANG Kai, Technical Department Manager of SC Shipping, and the
supervision team from the shipyard, along with WANG Zhanwei, Deputy Director of
the Production Management Department, WANG Yueshan, Deputy Director of the
Business Department of Wuchang Shipbuilding, and representatives from relevant
departments.
This newly launched vessel is the first of two identical tankers contracted
in March 2023 between SC-Stolt and Wuchang Shipbuilding.
Established in 2005, SC-Stolt is a joint venture
between Shanghai SC Shipping and Stolt-Nielsen. The company currently operates
a fleet of nine ships, with two more under construction, serving China’s coastal
areas, middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, Pearl River Delta and
international routes.
