On December 28th, the auspicious naming and
delivery ceremony for "XIA HUAI," the fourth vessel in SC Shipping's
7,200 DWT chemical tanker series, took place in Nantong, Jiangsu Province.
Gracing the event were esteemed dignitaries including Wu Guirong, Executive
Deputy General Manager of Gentco Logistics; Si Liang, Deputy General Manager of
Gentco Logistics and General Manager of SC Shipping; Tian Jun, Deputy General
Manager of Wuchang Shipbuilding; Li Tao, Director of the Operations Division at
Wuchang Shipbuilding; Dr. Wu Chao, Special Advisor to the China Shipowners
Mutual Assurance Association; Zhang Dongbiao, Deputy General Manager of the
Jiangsu Branch of the China Classification Society (CCS); and Zhou Zhiyong,
Deputy Director of the Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute
(SDARI).
In her remarks, Ms. Si Liang expressed her
appreciation, noting that the ceremony not only marked the successful
conclusion of the 7,200 DWT project but also heralded an exciting new chapter
in the enduring collaboration between SC Shipping and Wuchang Shipbuilding. The
two industry giants remain steadfastly committed to joining forces in their
pursuit of quality-driven development and an even more prosperous future. As
China forges ahead on its path towards national rejuvenation, she expressed her
aspiration for the company to emulate the boundless expanse of the cosmos and
the vibrant tapestry of nature, contributing its strengths towards the nation's

Mr. Tian Jun then underscored the pivotal
role of SC Shipping's 7,200 DWT series as a flagship endeavor for Wuchang
Shipbuilding. He attributed the timely delivery of this fourth vessel to the
invaluable support extended by the shipowner, CCS, SDARI, and other key
stakeholders. "Looking ahead, Wuchang Shipbuilding reaffirms its
commitment to meticulous planning, milestone management, and contractual
fulfillment, leveraging its expertise in chemical tanker design and
construction to propel future endeavors with a strong sense of national duty
and responsibility," said Tian.
In a ceremonial highlight, Dr. Wu Chao,
Special Advisor to the China Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association,
christened the vessel "XIA HUAI," symbolizing a new beginning and
extending blessings for prosperity and safe voyages.
"XIA HUAI" stands as the fourth
vessel in SC Shipping's trailblazing 7,200 DWT chemical tanker series
constructed by Wuchang Shipbuilding. These duplex stainless steel vessels,
classed by the China Classification Society, are designed for global navigation
and incorporate cutting-edge design principles and technologies, exemplifying
efficiency, environmental stewardship, and uncompromising safety standards.
Boasting exceptional performance and cargo-carrying capabilities, the
pioneering "WU TONG" vessel has already earned international acclaim
by being featured in the Significant Ships of 2021 publication. To date, the
first three vessels in this groundbreaking series have collectively completed
over a hundred successful voyages, a testament to their prowess and
reliability. The delivery of "XIA HUAI" will further enhance SC
Shipping's comprehensive service capabilities in the field of liquid chemical
logistics, solidifying its position as a leader in the industry.
