On July 20th, SC Shipping proudly revealed the 3rd 7,200 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker during an elegant naming and launch event at Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd (“WS”).

In a strategic move to optimize its capacity structure, SC Shipping placed an additional order for two more 7,200 DWT stainless steel chemical tankers with Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd in May 2022. The recently launched "SC YUEDAN" marks the pioneering entry of these new ships, as well as the third in the series. Crafted from duplex stainless steel and boasting an unlimited navigation area, this cutting-edge tanker has been certified by the esteemed China Classification Society. The vessel's revolutionary design, a testament to the innovation of Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute, embraces high-efficiency, energy-saving, eco-friendly, and secure attributes that align with the highest international standards.
During his keynote address, Wu Guirong, Executive Deputy General Manager of Gentco Logistics, emphasized that SC Shipping's timeless edge lies in its domestic routes. This commitment is further demonstrated in the newly built 7,200 DWT stainless steel liquid chemical tankers, each thoughtfully crafted to seamlessly meet the specific logistics needs of domestic petrochemical customers.
According to Wu, the exceptional accomplishments of SC WUTONG and SC MUMIAN, both pioneers of the series, are truly commendable. Having successfully completed over 100 domestic voyages since their delivery, these vessels have made a resounding impact on China's domestic liquid chemical logistics, greatly contributing to the nation's visionary economic paradigm of prioritizing green transportation and domestic consumption ("internal circulation").
