On January 12, 2023, at 4:30 PM, Gentco Logistics held its 2022 Employee Recognition Ceremony at the International Conference Centre of Chateau Star River Pudong in Shanghai. The ceremony served as a fitting tribute to the dedicated teams and individuals who demonstrated exceptional performance, commitment, and achievements in 2022.
The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Wu Guirong, Executive Vice President of Gentco Logistics, and was attended by a number of distinguished guests, including Mr. Du Jiangtao, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Junzheng Group, and Mr. Huang Hui, Chairman and General Manager of Gentco Logistics. The main venue was populated by employees from the Shanghai office, with others from various locations worldwide participating virtually.
The ceremony recognized 32 individuals and 11 team/projects at the company level. Among the honorees, Si Liang, Vice General Manager of the Company and General Manager of the Shipping Business Unit, received the "2022 Annual Merit Award". Meanwhile, Wang Jingyu, Deputy General Manager & Foreign Trade General Manager of the Shipping Business Unit, Qiao Wei, Deputy General Manager & Northeast Asia Regional Manager of the Tank Container Logistics Business Unit, and Wang Hongyan, General Manager of Lianyungang Terminal, were awarded the "2022 Annual Outstanding Contribution Award".
Huang Hui, Chairman and General Manager of Gentco Logistics, kicked off the event with a review of the company's annual performance in 2022. He highlighted the company's achievements in the past year, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the complex macroeconomic environment. He also expressed his gratitude for the collective efforts of all employees, which led to the company's best performance in its history. He then outlined the company's goals for the coming year, including the reinforcement of core management capabilities to establish the brand and industry reputation, as well as keeping pace with the evolving industry and expanding the brand influence of NewPort and SC Shipping globally. The chairman concluded his speech with an inspiring message, reiterating that dedication leads to success and hoping that everyone would unite and embark on a new chapter.
The ceremony continued with speeches by Sang Yang, General Manager of Asia Leasing, Michael de Rijk, Deputy General Manager of the Company and General Manager of the Tank Container BU, and Si Liang, Deputy General Manager of the Company and General Manager of the Shipping BU, who provided an overview of each business unit's plans for 2023.
The final speaker of the event was Mr. Du Jiangtao, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Junzheng Group. He began his speech by acknowledging the accomplishments of the company's employees over the past year, citing advancements in the scientific management and operational resilience of the logistics sector as evidence of their hard work and dedication.
With regard to the future, Du outlined the objectives for 2023. On one hand, the company must tackle its own shortcomings and challenges head-on, with a focus on improving organizational capabilities, such as through the development of a robust information system. On the other hand, the company must continue to drive efficiency, fortify its foundation, invest in employee training and development, and meet new challenges with confidence.
