On June 30th, the naming and delivery ceremony of the second 25,900 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker built by CSSC Wuchang Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd (referred to as “CSSC Wuchang Shipbuilding”) for SC Shipping was grandly held in Jingjiang, Jiangsu Province.
Distinguished guests from all stakeholders gathered to witness this important moment, including Mr. WU Guirong, Executive Deputy General Manager of Gentco Logistics and General Manager of SC Shipping; Mr. TIAN Jun, Deputy General Manager of CSSC Wuchang Shipbuilding; Ms. LIU Jia, the ship's godmother; Mr. SONG Aimin, General Manager of American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Central China; and Mr. LIANG Zongqing, Chairman and General Manager of Shanghai Odely Marine Engineering Co., Ltd.
In a solemn and joyful atmosphere, Ms. Liu Jia named the new vessel SC EPIDOTE. She explained that epidote is a green mineral whose translucent emerald hue and dense, solid internal structure are forged through millions of years of geological transformation and intense heat and pressure. She offered her blessings for the vessel: May she, like this natural stone, sail into the oceans with grace, meet the winds and waves with composure, and guard every voyage with steadfast strength.
In his speech, Mr. Wu Guirong stated that SC Shipping has been dedicated to chemical tanker operation for over three decades, committed to building a professional global transportation network. The ongoing delivery of the 25K vessels has further strengthened our service capabilities on core routes and marked a solid step forward in the company's development of a green and environmentally friendly fleet. Looking ahead, we will continue to provide safe, efficient, and green transportation solutions to petrochemical clients worldwide, driving high-quality development of the liquid chemical shipping industry.
In the height of summer, with strong tides and full sails, SC EPIDOTE, bearing all the expectations and efforts, has officially entered service — adding green power to SC Shipping's global fleet.
