On May 28, the first session of 2026 Shell Maritime Partners in
Safety China Focus Group Conference, co-hosted by Shell and COSCO SHIPPING
Energy Transportation and organized by SC SHIPPING, was successfully held at
Shanghai SK Tower. 55 guests from 17 organizations, including Shell, COSCO SHIPPING
Energy Transportation, China Merchants Nanjing Oil Tanker Corporation, and SC-Stolt,
pooled strength for maritime safety discussions.
Centered on safety topics, the meeting featured in-depth discussions
on key aspects including performance review, Playbook interpretation, risk
management, certificate review, and case studies. Mr. ZHU Maijin, Chair of
Shell Maritime Partners in Safety China Focus Group, presented the Performance Analysis
Report of the group. Captain ZHANG Hemin, Shell MTA Lead; YAO Wanjun, Senior
Surveyor at China Classification Society; Captain LIU Jibo, MTA at CNOOC and Shell
Petrochemical (CSPC); and Mr. WANG Mengjin, Safety Supervision Department Manager
at SC Shipping, among fellow industry experts, shared insights into maritime
safety, providing technical expertise for jointly strengthening the safety of maritime
transport.
ZANG Yingui, Deputy General Manager of SC SHIPPING, concluded the
conference with a key message: safety is the everlasting priority of the
maritime industry. He hopes that, building on the momentum of this conference,
all parties can deepen cooperation and jointly raise the bar on safety.
Nothing is too small in maritime safety, as true responsibility lies
in the implementation of each detail. We hope all partners will join hands and
pool forces to safeguard maritime safety for a win-win future. May every voyage
